The update relay logs every check (car, number of releases, newest
pre-release) and every download (car, file, size, then bytes and time,
or that it was cut short); never the forge's address or token, tested.
Go 1.27.3 for the build image and toolchain: govulncheck had found
GO-2026-6809 in crypto/x509 under 1.26.9; source and binary now clean.

The full-screen button's disc was an oval (an even inset in a 64 x 72 dp
area); the area is now a square 72 dp, pulled into the panel's padding
so the logo keeps its line. THEMES.md shows the twelve Overview styles,
each with and without the navigation (emulator, sample values), with
what inspired each; linked from README.md and AGENTS.md.

While the style shows its own palette (Sci-fi, Cartoon, Aviation, Nixie;
Retro and Terminal with "Original"), the navigation, buttons and titles
take it instead of the accent colour, e.g. turquoise for Retro
(StylePalette, style_palettes.xml). Blueprint and Mascot are removed; a
stored one opens Tiles. The navigation no longer saves view state, which
crashed a restore across the wide and narrow layouts.

Without the app's own full screen, the car's sidebar takes the left edge
and a swipe from there never reaches the app. A small tab at the app's
left edge now brings the navigation back, by a tap or a swipe from it.
In the app's full screen the handle and edge swipe stay as they were.

The car falls back to its own default mode at every start. With "Set at
start" (on by default), the service sets the mode last chosen on
Settings and confirmed by the car again, once, while the car is in P at
0 km/h, and gives up as soon as the car leaves P or after two minutes
(DriveModeWrite.atStart, unit-tested). The buttons and the start share
the write and read-back (DriveModeSetter). Not tried on the car.

The owner lifted the read-only rule for the drive mode alone. Settings
has Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow and Custom; the lit button is what the car
reports. A tap reads gear and speed fresh and writes only in P at 0 km/h
(DriveModeWrite, unit-tested; unreadable is a refusal), through a CPM-only
write behind EVHardware's standstill gate, then reads the mode back and
says what the car reports. The wide layout's charging price joined the
battery card so the page still fits. Not tried on the car.

The 2.32.0 recording (ACC set to 101, 90 and 80 km/h behind another car)
found none of it among 1,194 values: the head unit does not get the ACC
data. Removed the cruise log and the set-speed read (EVHardware is as
before 2.27.3); the finding is under "Signals the car does not provide".
The recorder stays as the Signal recorder, for finding other signals.

The 2.31.1 log on the car showed the named assist properties constant
while ACC was engaged behind another car: they are not fed. The recorder
reads every property and vendor getter (read only, at most half the time
busy) for 3 minutes, plus steering-wheel key broadcasts, and lists what
changed, the rarest first. The recording is saved in the app and on a
USB stick if one is plugged in.

The 2.27.3 log wrote a line only when the target speed changed, so the
car showed one line at the start. Now a line is written on any change of
a mode or the target and every 2 s while driving, with the raw
driver-assistance properties (target speed, assist and speed-assist
modes, the followed object) and the reason for any unread value. The
last 600 lines are kept in an appended file; the Logs tab shows 150.

The Overview's full-screen button moved from the page's corner into the
navigation, beside the MG4 logo. A swipe in from the left edge (EdgeSwipe,
unit-tested) brings the navigation back; a faint handle marks the edge.
Sideways swipes no longer change the page: only the navigation does.

FoxFigure draws a sitting fox with a scarf in the accent colour whose
ears and tail act the mood with the face: wagging, stiff, drooping,
laid back. The chibi's shared parts (frame, eyes, mouths, limbs by
mood, effects) moved into ChibiBase, which both figures extend.
Settings → Mascot: Classic / Chibi / Fox.

ChibiFigure draws a small, full-figure co-pilot in a hoodie whose whole
body acts the mood (waving, arms up and hopping, fist, hands on cheeks,
nose bubble, pointing back, leaning into the wind). Settings → Mascot
(Classic / Chibi, MascotCharacter) shows only for the Mascot style; the
chibi has lines of her own.

MascotView draws her head and shoulders beside speed, gear, battery,
power, usage and trip. MascotMood picks her expression from the reading
(waiting, reverse, worried, asleep, cheering, determined, fast, content)
and holds a new mood for 1.5 s so values at a threshold do not make her
flicker. A speech bubble carries a line per mood.

Retro and Terminal are one entry each; the accent colour drop-down
offers "Original" first for them, remembered per style. The old
"Retro (accent colour)" entry is folded in and its stored value
migrated. Emulator only.

Settings → Display now has the Overview style first with the accent
colour beside it; for styles with their own palette the accent field is
greyed out with a note. Styles are an enum, OverviewStyle, with
usesAccent (unit-tested). Emulator only.

Five more styles that differ in arrangement as well as look: the speed
alone with hairlines; a green text terminal with ASCII bars; a flight
display with tapes and a horizon that pitches with power; nixie tubes on
walnut and brass; a watch face with sub-dials. They share a new base,
ClusterCanvasView. Emulator only.

Sci-fi: a starship console with elbow frames, pill labels and block
graphs, red alert below 20 %. Cartoon: comic panels, a battery with a
face, a springy speedometer and sound words for power. Blueprint: a
top-view drawing with the battery hatched to the charge, tyre pressures
on leader lines, power as a force arrow and a title block. Styles are
now mapped to panes in a table. Emulator only.

Retro: an 80s vacuum fluorescent cluster with seven-segment digits,
bar graphs and a lit P R N D selector. Futuristic: a hairline HUD with
an animated energy flow between battery and wheel, a turning speed ring
and a power arc. Both show unread values as dashes. The Overview now
reads the car five times a second. Emulator only.

Codes read on the owner's car with 2.22.1: 1 P, 2 R, 3 N, 4 D. Gear
maps them (unit-tested); other codes show no letter, unread "—". The

A third Overview style beside Tiles and Dashboard: rings for battery,
power (zero at the top, regeneration anticlockwise in green) with the
speed and gear inside, and 5-minute usage with a tick for the average
since start; below, the power of the last two minutes, the clock,
climate and odometer. Unread values light nothing and show "—"; the
trace leaves gaps (PowerTrace, unit-tested). Emulator only.

AGENTS.md still described upstream's EVABRPUploader (GitHub updates,
the old architecture and tabs). It is now the entry point for agents:
what the project is (app, Go server, k8s, EVHardware), the rules
(nothing touches the cluster, secrets, read-only telemetry, null is not
zero, fail closed, honesty), the facts confirmed on the car, the app's
structure and UI conventions, how to build, test, publish and install,
and which document holds what. SPECS.md stays the journal.
The Android 9 test emulator, so far a file under the ignored build/,
is now reproducible: nix run .#car-emulator creates an AVD at
1920x720/160 dpi with the AOSP image that shares the car's platform key
and starts it on port 5560. Checked from scratch: the car build
installs as the system user.

Leon Kernan's ABRP_Uploader has carried the MIT Licence since
2026-07-29 (lkernan/ABRP_Uploader commit 75d8f2bc), so the inherited
"no licence upstream, status unresolved" notes no longer hold.
- LICENSE: MIT, now naming every copyright holder in the fork chain
(Leon Kernan, EVABRPUploader contributors, FatihsMG4 contributors,
Nils Stinnesbeck).
- LICENSE.md: rewritten. The repository is MIT except EVHardware/,
which is PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0; the app links it into the APK,
so the built app is non-commercial. EVHardware's own caveat about
EVProfile stays with it.
- README, AGENTS.md, CONTRIBUTING.md and SPECS.md say the same.

The accent is selectable in Settings → Display: Dynamic Red (default),
Volcano Orange, Holborn Blue, Racing Green, Camden Grey, Monument
Silver, Arctic White and Black Pearl. White, silver and black cannot be
an accent on the black screen as they are, so they become light greys
and a pearl blue-grey.
The accent palette is now theme attributes (attrs_accent.xml) with one
overlay per paint (accents.xml), applied before the activity inflates;
layouts, colour lists, drawables and the views that draw in code use
them, including the red tints that were hard-coded. A change recreates
the activity on the same page. Android 9 crashes on gradients with
theme colours, so the battery card is built from layers.
Logs → "Look for the car colour" lists the head unit's system
properties that mention colour, paint or car model, to find out whether
the paint colour can be read from the car.

ev_cyan becomes a light red (#FF9A9E, for values and secondary
highlights, readable on black) and ev_cyan_deep a deep red (#3A1215,
version badge). Turquoise hardcoded in the battery card, switch track,
input panel, car outline, background glow and charging-graph grid is
replaced with matching red tones, as are two gold leftovers (tab
outline, second background glow). The mint "OK" status colour and the
amber charging curve are unchanged.

- k8s/grafana.yaml: Grafana 13.2.3 with a 1Gi PVC, sign-up and
anonymous access off. The InfluxDB datasource (URL and token from the
environment) and three dashboards — Live, Consumption, Charging — are
provisioned from k8s/grafana/ via kustomize-generated ConfigMaps.
- server.yaml for the Go server (port 8080, UID 65532, smaller limits),
image tag 2.0.0. The NetworkPolicy now admits Grafana to InfluxDB.
- ingress.yaml: IngressRoutes for car.stinnesbeck.com and Grafana
(placeholder host car-grafana.stinnesbeck.com) with tls: {}, using
Traefik's default certificate; the cert-manager Certificate is gone.
- secrets.example.yaml: drops the dashboard secrets, adds grafana-admin.
- AGENTS.md loses its Next.js block; SPECS.md describes the new setup.
The removal of web/ (the Next.js app) and of the stale .next/ cache
upstream had committed already landed in 51e6f6f, which was staged
together with the Go server by mistake.
Checked end to end in podman (Go server + InfluxDB 2.7.12 + Grafana
13.2.3): all 25 dashboard queries return the expected data, and the
dashboards were rendered with headless Chromium. Manifests validated
offline with kustomize and kubeconform. Nothing applied to a cluster.

ev_accent is now #E0424C, the red of the launcher icon (about 4.6:1 on
the black background, enough for accent-coloured text; the darker MG
brand red is about 3:1). ev_on_accent and ev_gold_surface follow with a
dark red tint; the gold hardcoded in two drawables and the consumption
period buttons is replaced too. AGENTS.md's visual direction updated.

Ports WinClose's SWI69 window control as an opt-in foreground service that is
independent of ABRP: no token, no GPS, no upload cadence. The driver opening a
door while the car is in P at a readable 0 km/h pulses UP at all four areas for
five seconds, then STOP.
Only the parts that serve that one behaviour are taken. WinClose's speed and
time arming, configurable delay, warning beep, per-window modes and position
reads are all absent — the target car is a Comfort trim whose motors carry no
position sensor, so a close can be neither verified nor cancelled.
The pulse, the door edge detector and the eligibility policy are pure classes
with unit tests. STOP is attempted from a finally block on every exit, including
an interrupted sleep, a refused write and a sender that throws, because a pulse
that stops arriving leaves the motors wherever they were.
Guards worth naming, several of them learned from reading WinClose rather than
from the port itself:
- A wake lock spans the pulse. This fires as the driver leaves, which is exactly
when the head unit suspends; without it the glass can stop halfway with no
STOP sent.
- A fresh listener registration replays the door's current state. That replay
seeds the edge detector instead of triggering it, or a binder reconnect while
the door stands open would close the windows on someone halfway out.
- WinClose's 60-second cooldown, so reaching back into the car does not run a
second pulse.
- The service stops itself on a non-SWI69 generation, and the switch is disabled
unless the process holds system uid — only the unstable flavor declares
android.uid.system, so a stable build could otherwise offer a toggle whose
every command would fail.
This is the project's first write to the vehicle. README, SECURITY, AGENTS,
CONTRIBUTING and DISCLAIMER all claimed the app never writes; that claim is
retracted and scoped rather than quietly left standing.
Untested on a car. The feature is off by default.

A fork of malys/EVABRPUploader (itself a fork of Leon Kernan's ABRP_Uploader)
carrying the changes that make it work on this car. History starts here: the
tree is what matters, and the upstream projects are where the earlier work
belongs.
EVHardware is vendored rather than tracked as a submodule, so one clone
builds.
Telemetry. SOC, battery power and range read as unavailable on SWI69 because
the vendor fallbacks were gated to SWI68 alone, while the property ids they
use are the ones this car publishes — the gates now admit SWI69. Tyre
pressure, the odometer and charge status come from the vendor block too,
since the generic properties for all three are declared here and never
publish. Tyre pressure is confirmed on the vehicle; the other two are not
yet.
Vehicle page. Every signal the car answers, in a table. One that it does not
publish shows a dash: an unimplemented VHAL property returns zero, and
"0 °C" would read as a measurement.
Wi-Fi page. Joins a network the unit already has saved, so a phone hotspot
does not need a trip into Settings on every drive. Tried on the upload tick
and from a button, skipped while already associated. This leans on the unit
being API 28 and the build being platform-signed — getConfiguredNetworks and
enableNetwork are closed to ordinary apps from API 29 — and fails quietly
where that does not hold.
The OTA updater points at this repository. An APK from upstream is signed
with a different key, which Android will not install over a platform-signed
build.
